Chandler is a very productive and high quality walnut developed by the University of California Davis in 1979. Tight thin shelled nuts are resistant to coddling moth and blight are easy to crack. Very light skinned nuts are sweet with a great flavor. Bears on lateral buds as well as terminal. Self fertile tree bears at an early age. Hardy zones 6-10.
